About us
We look after active fire protection — the systems that detect a fire, warn people and help them get out. Alarms, extinguishers, emergency lighting, suppression and risk assessments, installed and maintained by our own engineers.
Pro-Active Fire Safety is a family-run business working from Unit 3 Globe Estate on Fieldhouse Lane in Marlow. Our engineers live locally, know the buildings around here and are not routed through a national call centre.
We are BAFE registered, BSI ISO 9001 certified and hold the BSI Kitemark for fire systems installations. Every accreditation is audited by a third party and renewed on a fixed cycle, so what we claim can be checked.
We deal with schools, care homes, NHS sites, social housing, offices and national facilities-management contractors — buildings where the paperwork has to stand up to scrutiny as much as the equipment does.

Design, installation, commissioning and maintenance to BS 5839-1, wired and wireless. Systems are serviced twice a year as the standard requires, and we can arrange 24/7 monitoring so a signal reaches a receiving centre even when the building is empty.
Supply, siting and annual servicing to BS 5306-3, with extended service at five years for water, foam and powder, and overhaul at ten years for CO2. We also advise on provision under BS 5306-8 so you have the right type in the right place.
Installation and testing to BS 5266-1 — a monthly function test and a full annual three-hour duration test, logged so you can show it was done. We pick up the gaps a lot of buildings have on escape routes and external final exits.
A fire risk assessment is a legal requirement under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 for virtually every non-domestic premises in England and Wales. We carry them out, write them up, and give you an action plan you can actually work through.
Suppression systems for kitchens, server rooms and plant areas; escape route and equipment signage to BS 5499; and on-site fire warden, practical extinguisher and EVAC chair training so your staff know what to do when the alarm sounds.
