Passive fire protection, handled by the other half of our group
Pro-Active Fire Safety does active fire protection — the systems that detect a fire and help people get out. Pro-Passive does the other side: the doors, walls and seals that hold a fire where it started. Same group, same standards, one point of contact.
Fire alarms and detection, emergency lighting, extinguishers, suppression, fire dampers, AOV smoke ventilation, signage, risk assessments and training. Everything that detects a fire, warns people and helps them leave.
Fire doors, compartmentation, cavity barriers, fire stopping and fire-resisting construction. Everything built into the fabric of the building to contain a fire and protect the escape routes.
What Pro-Passive covers
The building-fabric side of fire protection — surveyed, installed and documented.
Fire doors
Survey, installation, remedial works and inspection of fire door sets, including ironmongery, intumescent seals and closing devices.
Compartmentation
Dividing a building into fire-resisting compartments so a fire stays where it starts, and surveying what is already in place.
Fire stopping
Sealing the penetrations made by pipes, cables and ductwork through fire-resisting walls and floors — the gaps that quietly undo compartmentation.
Cavity barriers
Closing off concealed voids in walls, ceilings and roof spaces so smoke and flame cannot travel unseen through the structure.

Where the line is drawn
- Pro-Active Fire Safety does not carry out passive works. We are an active fire protection company and we say so
- Anything involving fire doors, compartmentation, fire stopping or cavity barriers is handled by Pro-Passive
- If you ask us for passive work, we will put you in touch rather than take on something outside what we are accredited for
- Each side holds its own accreditations for the work it actually does
Pro-Active Fire Safety and Pro-Passive Fire Safety are two companies in the same group — one covering active fire protection, the other passive. Between them they cover both sides of fire protection for the same building.
